Gardes-tu un bon souvenir de ta scolarité dans cet établissement?

Très certainement, je regrette simplement de ne pas avoir pu m’investir dans la vie sociale de l’école, du fait de mon planning plutôt chargé. Mes relations avec les étudiants furent très intéressantes malgré mon statut particulier.
Tous les membres de l’administration, la direction et les professeurs ont été sensibles à ma volonté de mener de front sport professionnel et préparation de ma reconversion.

Antoine, pourquoi avoir suivi en parallèle à l’ISAM, un cycle préparatoire au Diplôme d’Ingénieur en Génie Biologie à l’Université Technologique de Compiègne?
C’est après l’obtention de mon diplôme de l’ISAM que j’ai été accepté au cycle préparatoire au Diplôme d’Ingénieur de l’UTC. Passionné par les biotechnologies depuis toujours (BAC D), je souhaitais acquérir des compétences scientifiques. L’idée était d’ajouter une troisième composante à mon parcours de sportif et de diplômé en management afin de m’orienter, à terme, vers les secteurs de la nutrition high-tech (domaine de prédilection des adeptes de la performance).

Depuis 1984, tu es hockeyeur professionnel, tu as même été le 1er gardien français à devenir professionnel à 16 ans, qu’est ce que le sport t’a enseigné?
Ma carrière d’athlète de haut niveau m’a permis de développer des qualités indispensables à la réussite sportive et facilement transposables à toute autre activité.

Le sport professionnel est une compétition qui se déroule dans un univers changeant. Mon palmarès personnel, national, international et mon parcours aux USA sont la preuve de mon adaptabilité, de ma volonté de me surpasser ainsi que de mes qualités de compétiteur.

Le hockey sur glace est un sport collectif où le poste de gardien de but est considéré comme représentant à lui seul 60 à 70% des résultats de l’équipe. Il faut savoir travailler pour et avec les autres. Le gardien influence ses coéquipiers par ses performances, mais aussi par sa rigueur et son charisme. J’ai su développer le sens des responsabilités, la maîtrise du stress mais également un certain leadership et sens du relationnel.
Une autre particularité du hockey est d’être suivi par une population très variée. J’ai donc appris à communiquer avec des personnes d’origines et de milieux fondamentalement différents.
Mais la qualité essentielle que ma vie de sportif professionnel m’a obligé à améliorer est sans nul doute l’organisation. Le sport de haut niveau est une activité professionnelle récente. Il n’y a pas encore de ” recette ” pour réussir. C’est à chacun de se prendre en charge et de s’organiser. Plusieurs paramètres sont à prendre en compte : hygiène alimentaire, hygiène de vie, sommeil, récupération, technique, physique, prévention, soins etc. Il faut travailler dans chacun de ces domaines de façon équilibrée pour être et rester le plus performant possible. Il m’a aussi fallu intégrer dans mes préoccupations la composante familiale et la nécessité d’une reconversion.
La réussite, dans cette aventure exceptionnelle qu’est le sport professionnel, passe par la recherche d’un équilibre qui permette de s’épanouir totalement.

Pendant deux ans, tu as vécu aux Etats-Unis, qu’as-tu appris là bas?
D’un point de vue professionnel, le circuit nord américain est particulièrement compétitif. Vous n’avez que rarement une deuxième chance. J’ai donc surtout appris à maîtriser cette obligation de résultats mais encore en plus à l’utiliser comme carburant. Seul le résultat compte, à vous de trouver les solutions de votre réussite.

Avant de partir exercer mon métier aux USA, j’ai vécu au Canada jusqu’à l’âge de 8/9 ans. Je suis donc parti avec un a priori positif. J’ai aimé le mode de vie et la sensation de maîtriser mon destin.
Le racisme s’exprime de façon différente qu’en France. Il est plus apparent et les clivages ethniques sont bien visibles.

Antoine, tu as vingt ans de carrière, quatre titres de champion de France, vas-tu poursuivre encore longtemps ta carrière de sportif de haut niveau?
Je ne me suis pas fixé de date limite. J’aime mon sport et la compétition. La saison 2004/2005 sera riche de défis et challenges. Nous voulons défendre le titre et atteindre au moins les ½ finales de la Coupe d’Europe. Les techniques d’entraînements et de suivis des athlètes permettent de pousser assez loin la machine humaine. Tant que j’aurais la passion, la volonté de souffrir à l’entraînement, que mon corps répondra présent à mes sollicitations et que les résultats suivront, je continuerai. Une chose est certaine, je n’ai jamais été aussi proche de la fin…

Que désires-tu faire pendant ta retraite de sportif?
Acheter une île dans le Pacifique et couler des jours paisibles…

Non, à dire vrai je mets tout en œuvre pour que ma prochaine vie professionnelle soit tout aussi passionnante que mon parcours de sportif de haut niveau. L’idée de poursuivre ma formation est également un de mes objectifs

Au cours de mes 20 années de sport professionnel j’ai acquis des compétences dans l’optimisation de la performance, la gestion du stress et d’une façon plus générale, dans les stratégies du succès et l’élaboration de procédures de réussite répétables. En outre, l’expérience de ces derniers mois au sein de la société ZENYA (communication internet des clubs sportifs et conseil auprès des athlètes) a confirmé mon goût pour le conseil. Je cherche désormais à intégrer d’autres connaissances et réaliser une fusion de mes savoirs. Une vision originale du conseil en management et stratégie de réussite, car teintée de mon vécu de sportif de haut niveau, me permettra, à terme, d’intégrer un cabinet de conseil en management, stratégie et organisation. Il me faut aujourd’hui approfondir mes connaissances des techniques et des outils du management et de conseil. Il m’importe d’avoir une vision à la fois stratégique et opérationnelle et d’intégrer toutes les contraintes et les enjeux du management général. J’entends, par ailleurs, acquérir une meilleure appréhension du développement de l’entreprise dans un contexte international.
Le MBA me semble, à ce titre, la formation la plus en correspondance avec mes objectifs et mes attentes.

Pour finir, as-tu un message particulier à faire passer?
L’idée de développer le réseau des diplômés de l’ISAM est particulièrement intéressante. Je pense que celui-ci peut devenir un outil de promotion et de changement professionnel pour les diplômés. C’est à nous de l’enrichir et de soutenir les différentes actions mises à place par l’association.
